A Birthday Party That Really Soars

Passing Notes Today:  Mrs. Williams's Cousin, Sarah

Hey Girls, it's Mrs. Williams here, and you won't believe this festive and creative party that my cousin Mrs. Law (AKA Sarah) put together for her sweet son, Finley.  It's an airplane theme.  It's super cute.  It's amazing (just like Sarah).  Enjoy!

Hi Everyone -

I'm so excited to be back at Naptime Notebook sharing some of the fun we had celebrating my son's birthday.  I didn't have a lot of time to put it together, but in the end, he was a happy boy and well, that's all that matters, right?

I went to Hobby Lobby to find as many airplanes in a decent price range as possible.  Luckily, most of them were on clearance. While I was there, I bought some star fabric and striped fabric since his birthday always falls around Memorial Day (two for one deal with celebrations).

For decorations, we also created a paper chain just out of construction paper and the white plane is a glider that I found on clearance.

I bought blank labels at Staples and created stickers to put on bags of peanuts and pretzels… no flight is complete without those, right?

The cupcakes are homemade and they're Finn's Favorite - strawberry Greek yogurt cake.  They're topped with lemon cream cheese icing.

The airplane decorations on the sweets table were purchased on amazon.com.

Make a wish Finn!

The table of food was referred to as the "refueling station".

The drinks were outside and even relabeled "Finley Airlines".(I just used generic Crush sodas and placed the sticker over the top.  Luckily, the flavors were still visible below.)  The paper straws and red striped fabric top it off.

On this day, he was the happiest pilot around!

Thanks for letting me share - feel free to get up and roam about the cabin now -

Mrs. Law (Sarah)

Note from Mrs. Gosling:  Oh ... now I definitely can tell that Mrs. W and Mrs. L are related.  You both have the "awesome" gene when it comes to party planning.  Your son's clapping is priceless,  that's what it is all about.  Nice job ... again!!!

Note from Mrs. Kelly:  I hate flying and I love this party.  So, I guess that says alot right?  I love the suitcase detail.  This is Americana to me (says the girl whose brother is an Airman)!
