This Little Light of Mine

Passing Notes Today:  Mrs. Kelly

Hey guys,
Are you sick of me talking about my thrift store adventures yet?  You are?  Too late.  Behold a picture of my latest find:

photo (34)

Sorry the quality is poor but I snapped it with my phone.  I love when I find something beautiful that also serves a purpose. You see, I'd been kind of hating on the ceiling fan in my daughter's room.  It was just a boring white fan but it also wobbled every time the blades circulated.  I didn't trust that thing.

So, I scooped up my pretty little chandelier for $13 at our local Goodwill and then delivered the good news to my husband.  "Honey!  You have a new chore to add to your to-do list!"

A few minutes later, the chandelier was up and looking lovely as ever.  Check ya later boring fan.  (Here are instructions on how to swap a fixture for a chandelier.)

Now my daughter has her princess room!

It's similar to this chandelier from Pottery Barn Kids for $199!!

Oh thrift stores, how you light up my life...

Note from Mrs. Gosling:  Perfectly placed for a little girls room.  Magical!

Mrs. Kelly, the chandelier looks pretty. What a deal! ...I've been wanting to get ceiling fans for the three upstairs bedrooms where there currently is no ceiling fixture at all. Hubby protests, saying all of the home improvement shows always remove the ceiling fans, saying they're dated or an eyesore. My argument is that it gets blasted hot on the second floor of our house in the summertime, and while we don't notice it in our first floor master bedroom, it surely sucks for the kids to try sleeping upstairs with just a stand fan to move the hot air around. ...Is Hubby right? Are ceiling fans inherently uncool? There's a pun there somewhere.

Hah! Mrs. S, you know I'm laughing because of the pun. Also, laughing because I've had the same conversation. Before I scooped up the chandelier I heard my mom echoing in my ears...my mom is a big "fan" of the fan. Ok, sorry. I like fans too but not the one that was in my daughter's room and definitely not ones that seem damaged! If you add them, you will have to take before/after pics so we can post them!! -Mrs. K.
